Things I make

I've had a lot of projects over the years.  I realize that I've reached the point where I would like to have them documented better than the scattered collection of photos, digital images, videos, CAD files, and the like to better share with friends and family, and anyone else who might be interested.

As a preview, some of my projects have been:

1.  Human Powered Vehicles (HPV).  This one is quite extensive so I have another blog started just for it here.

2.  Computer Numerical Control (CNC) .  I have a couple machines that I have converted to computer control, commonly called CNC.  I would say they are works in progress, though I have made good parts on both of them. This is an active area of work for me, since with a computer controlled machine, you can make pretty much anything, and that is, after all, what I like to do. This subject also includes my long time interest in rapid prototyping/manufacturing, where I am starting to dabble more.

3.  Delta Robot.  This is similar to the CNC, but I find people are interested in them for perhaps different reasons, so I thought I would give this project its own heading.  Delta Robots are a kind of parallel kinematics robot that are usually optimized for fast pick and place types of operations.  I build a small desktop sized prototype this last winter.   Now I have all kinds of ideas for what I might do with it...

4.  Medieval Armor.  OK, this is kind of a break from all the more technical stuff above.  I've made a couple pieces that I thought turned out half way decent like the chainmail coif and plate spaulders below.

5.  Jewelry.  I've made a number of pieces over the years, mostly ear rings, but some others like the matching inconel wedding rings shown, that I made for some friends.

6.  Miscellaneous.  Tryiing to capture everything else here.  Includes projects like large structures, a snow plow for the old Subaru (which I DO NOT recommend.  That's how it became the OLD Subaru), a trebuchet, a PVC water rocket, and many more.  I don't have good documentation for all of these, but we will see what I can come up with.

I hope you find something interesting. If you do, please post in the comments, and maybe that will become the thing I update on more thoroughly next!
